stock block + greddytt+ nitrous = fun!!

hey guys, playing around with a Z today with stock motor in it. this car has been a great customer here at Performance Factory since day one. we installed a nitrous setup for him a week or two ago to add some more power and try to get some better 1/4 mile times from it. the car is a 05 Z with a greddy tt kit, all controlled by the utec. here are some graphs. we decided just to start with a 35 shot with a larger fuel jet. his AFRs under nitrous runs are mid to high 10s , again for safety.

wow, what a fun stock block car!! he will take it to the track very soon, he ran 12.2s with right over 400 so he should be able to get some mid 11s with the current setup.. only issue with the car right now is that the WG is sticking, it will build a small boost level, then die off just a bit, then build full boost, its kinda weird and thats why the second graphs look a bit wavy.

Graph one is wastegate springs. 4.8 psi with and without 35 shot

second one is right around 10 psi, also a 35 shot. we added a couple gallons of C16 just to make sure the car didnt let go...

Those are some nice numbersn for a stock block.
How much could it be pushed with a built engine? Thats because i'm thinking of the same setup.

Hahaha, well at least you can hold more than one other person in your car (back seat) thats what I think about when my Z is faster than my G, hahaha

I am partial to the looks and creatue comforts of the G over the Z (for daily driving)

yeah the car builds like 7 pounds then the wastegate sticks and it stays open and looses boost for a second, then gets shut and builds back up to the correct amount of boost at around 4700. we are ordering new wastegates for it here soon.

thanks!!

I bet thats a kick in the butt when the NO2 turns on !!!!!

Jeremy...There are quite few SCer's running 10 or 11 psi that make 400whp+ on a stock block . Why would this TT set up only make 400whp ? A lot of miles on the car ? Or just being real safe ?

IMO theres nothing safe about nitrious and TT-- I don't understand why you would do that honestly-- You have so much more you can get out of the TT...

We had a guy do just about the same set up here.

I'll bet it's not a really opened up exhaust/cats, the rich A/F, and maybe conservative timing

it really depends on the dyno actually. i have a standard dynojet. my numbers are exactly on average for dynojet numbers across the nation. A LOT of people use a lot of corrections on their other types of dynos and i see A LOT of EXAGGERATED claims that would not ever be possible on my dyno. i will also dyno anyone who doesnt believe me to show you what i mean any time.

thanks guys...

obviously you dont drag race your car or you would fully understand the need for nitrous to do things that boost cant do.

have you ever had nitrous on a car? have you ever launched a 6 speed at 7000 rpms on nitrous with a twin turbo? have you ever had a power car at the track , drag racing, enough to know that when you back the boost down a bit and add nitrous, your times will improve with the same hp levels??

if so we dont appreciate your false claims until you can prove me wrong...

thanks
