small not serious problem.....

sup guys. ok long story short i had the turbonetics kit installed in my car. with the raptor bov, everything was correct and i was looking at my boost guage on wot and it showed positive 9 psi. this was last week.

nothing was done to the car, and i went to drive it again yesterday, this time switching out my blow off valve with a new one. i put it on, test drove it and i wasnt getting any boost what so ever.

i was like wtf? so i switched back to the raptor bov, thinking that was the problem because of a leak or something, and it was not. i was still getting no boost. now do u guys think its any of these problems?

1.) my o2 sensor is loose/off
2.) the reflash ecu from turbonetics is messing up (i dont know how)
3.) turbo failure (every though its brand new)

might i add there are no leaks or anything anywhere. whatcould it be guys?
by the way, no my car wont start without me giving it a little gas.

did you bust a clamp by accident? check the all the clamps to and from the fmic

how does the car run? what's your vacuum at idle? you may have popped a vacuum line

and please, for God's sake, get a tune...don't run off the reflash!

i am gettin the car tuned as soon as its done being painted, so for right now when i go to the body shop and hes not working on the car, i take it for a spin lol.

yeah all the clamps are good and no leaks, i think im just going to put the line from the compressor side of the turbine and connect it to my wastegate. thats the problem im sure.

edit: the car runs nice at idle

Yeah, that was bad. I felt bad for that guy. He only enjoyed his boosted car for a whole 8 miles and then . . . . BOOOMMM!

That re-flash is scary IMO. I would not trust my motor to anything less than a custom tune with better knock control like a UTEC.

Just from this thread alone I would not use just the reflash.

Make sure you reconnected the hose to the BOV right. There's 2 holes on the Raptor and if you switch them you'll be dumping everything your compressor builds to the atmosphere out of the BOV.

There's tons of threads about Zs that blew after 8 miles? Umm.....not so much.

This is what I got from his posts:
- boosted a VQ with over 100k miles on it and did not test the engine before
- admitted to beating it up when it was NA
- friend installed the kit and a boost controller, lots of chances for error
- has no idea how much boost he was at when it went

He must know of something they possibly did wrong. He's being way too calm about blowing a motor in 8 miles after spending several thousand dollars upgrading.

^^I meant there are tons of threads of people blowing on the reflash...they're old though, because this was then the TN kit first came out

bottom line is the reflash isn't safe

Wow this is seriously misleading....

Fact- There were tons of Zs blowing cause of the TN Reflash back when the kit first came out, but there has been what now? like 4-5 revisions on the kit, from the wastegate issues to the turbo seals and reflashing and a/c lines.

I have personally seen/handle all customers and checking up on their cars after going FI, on a scheduled basis... definitely more than a dozen TN cars we have and none have blown or have running issues. majority of the guys are actually avid drag racers and frequent local tracks like e-town and atco in nj for runs. I dont trim up the reflashes or anything and these cars are all running like champs from day one!

even with the crazy weather patterns we have out here in the tri-state area the reflash has a wide enough parameter that it can compensate and not give boost cuts or anything when the weather changes abruptly.

I personally have the TN ST kit on my 03 Track Z and it definitely hasnt been any different than when it was stock (just got alot more HP) real reliable and boost and a/f readings are always on point.

What messes with the Reflash is when people start playing around with Boost Controllers and such... once modifications are done that takes the turbo kit out of its designed parameters the ECU wont be able to detect it. Bottom line is if you want an out of the box reliable setup the TN Kit w/ the Reflash is more than sufficient. its when you go for more that you gotta start adding in the piggyback EMUs and such.

to answer the OP's question though...

hook that line back up to the wastegate.. it should solve your problems right away. =)
