Is the G inherently slow... even at 400WHP?

Getting the info from seeing videos on youtube... sure it's probably some dumb azz bragging about how he spanked a G35 Turbo!

I'm from Dallas... I would love to see if anyone here has a twin turbo that i can go for a ride in. Any ideas?

I've never had a problem with the M3, even with my old 8psi with a tune setup.

A 400whp G is definitely not slow. You kinda get used to the power after a while but it is definitely not slow.

Half of those videos are crap There's a lot of hate going around on the G35 from sti, evo, m3, srt-4 forums and people like to make **** up

Go on streetfire and check out all the videos of turbo G's running mid-low 12's and don't listen to other crap...

On the other hand, it doesn't matter how fast a car is if the driver doesn't know how to use it, i.e. can't shift if it's MT

That's right. I have seen the vids. Ryan's G is quick as hell.

3600lbs without a driver? I don't think so.. unless you're speaking of an AWD or newer generation G.

Back to the topic: A 400 rwhp G35 can hit 12.5 or less IF the track conditions & DA's are right.

Ryan's car is a fine example; 340whp G35 doing 12.5's...

400rwhp is SLOW im bored of it!

The IS300 boosted is a very fast car. but the G has major traction issues.

Racing M3's is like racing civics its not worth the 1/4 of fuelDOMO

M3 NA vs. G35 NA should be no contest with a good driver. The highest NA Hp G35 I have seen is Rugrats that puts around 280whp. Stock M3's dyno between 265-285. Same whp + better gearing = easy win for M3.

I would like to see a SC'd G35 run the same time, although I doubt that will happen. Turbo advantage.

When I was NA, I never had one M3 pull on me....and I encountered 4 or 5. I know an M3 should have beaten me pretty badly, but the fact is that I have yet to encounter a good driver.

People need to appreciate the G35 for what it is: A very good looking, nice driving, sporty semi luxury coupe that is a great and fairly economical daily driver.

To make one into a truly fast car takes at least 40K, and even then you won't hang w/ the big dogs. After making extensive plans for a 600whp super handling car I finally realized I would be better off w/ a Supra or Porsche.

I love my G35 but it is my weekly workhorse/dd, not my weekend race car. When I run w/ the big dogs I bring out the GT2 and half a tank of race gas.

You need to get twin GT35R's on that GT2 beast.

Dan,

I am running Garrett GT 28 Turbos, S-Car-Go carbon fiber intake, and headers. Sachs clutch and lwfw. Europipe Loud w/ cats deleted. EVO IC's and silicone boost hoses. Protomotive fuel system (MAF, dual 044 pumps). Evo V-Flow Intake. Greddy boost regulator. I am pushing about 590 on pump and 650 on race gas at 1.4 bars. The car weighs a little over 3100.

The are a few cars on 6speedonline w/ Gt35's that are making over 800 at the wheels. However that would take a complete engine build. The beauty of my GT2 is that everything I have is bolt on: The bottom end is totally stock, although 650 is close to the limit on the stock bottom end.

As we all know 400 is the safe limit on the VQ35 bottom end. That is why the G35 gets expensive if you want to make it really fast. W/ the price drop on Porsche TT's, you can get a low mileage one for 64-65K and slap a stage 3 upgrade for another 10K. W/ the race file you have a totally reliable 540 whp car for 75K (of course a GT2 would run 50K more) not much more than it would take (remember, you need SO many upgrades, supsension, brakes, clutch, rims and tiresetc.) to get the same performance in the G35..I kniow, I tried. I learned to love the Infinity for the great little dd that it is and not expect more.
