hahaha dude i think I have the WORST story of my car ever man... it was the electrical issue before. When I got the car back, it was still not running right. The check engine light was on and the car would choke and hesitate. I took it over to GTM to have them take a look to see what the problem was. I paid them to completely take my engine apart to find the problem. I consulted with Sam and he said that taking the engine apart was the only way to find the problem after he did many other diagnostics. I called Tim about the problems and he took the car back. He is now re-doing all my work. He and I were able to reach an agreement which was a much better choice for me.

My problem started when I was driving on the freeway. I was driving and heard a weird dragging noise but I thought it was a bag stuck under my car. What happened was my oil line was dragging on the floor. the line busted which drained all my oil. Some of the parts got torn up due to no lube but all parts are being replaced with brand new ones. I am shooting for 600 rwhp. I hope we will pass that but for now, I will keep my expectations low.

note from Tim:
we will be upgrading the turbocharchers from the T3 super 60s,with stage 2 turbine and .48AR hotside to the T3/T4 60-1 hi-fis with stage 5 turbine and .63AR hotside with the ceramic ball bearing option. Much bigger turbo that will allow this auto tomake the most power out of any auto to date.We will also be upgrading the headers to our equal lnegth exhaust maifolds from the original tubular ones you had on previously. The downpipes will be re-done and still remain at 2.5" .The intake pipes will also be made out of 2.75" tubing instead of the old intakes which were 2.25" tubing.Ofcourse we need larger 2.75" K$N airfilters to protect the turbos and motor from dirt and debri. The intercooler piping will be re-done and still remain at 2".

Sorry twinturbo2800 for hijacking your thread man... I apologize

The 5AT is speced by JATCO at 333 lb/ft at the input shaft not a pound.ft more. Sure they will shift with more just not maintain 100,000 shift cycle life.

Reliablity is and weight reduction with aluminum shafts/components means there is little or no saftey reserve compared to older more robust designs.

Why would an oem waste money [over building] when power boost void the warranty...................99.9% of stock make it thru 70k warranty

^ the question you have to ask yourself is what would they change if they spec'd it at 600+ ft-lb (I assume you meant ft-lb) or torque...

1. line pressure
2. clutch pack material
3. number of clutches
4. cooling

Eliminate the weak links and you can exceed OEM specs and OEM reliability.

Kamal, was something actually wrong in the motor - or is that still in process? Hope you get that supercar back on the road soon to represent the 5AT!

I have heard it would be the clutch packs but no one goes into details.

400whp is pushing it for the stock AT tranny. it'll probably hold on manual mode, but you'll experience slippage when in full AT mode. valve body + tq converter upgrade combo meal is a must.

Sam (GTM) knows and he rattled them off so fast when we discussed on the phone that I only caught those basic categories (GTM-5AT stage 3). Sharif has the actual detailed work order which I should get soon...

Yep Sam does know what the details are, I just don't want to know just yet what it entails as I may have to spend even more money at his shop
Right now I just have their stage 2 package, should hold me over unless I want more power.

How are the shifts with the GTM VB? I have the stillen and want to switch to either GTM or SGP. The stillen doesn't shift fast enough.

I heard that the SGP shifts very hard in lower gears during normal driving.

How is the GTM VB in the lower gears cruising in ful auto?

Well 90% of the time I drive only in auto as it is my daily driver and have no need to actually put it in manumatic mode. In full auto you can hardly tell the difference in shifts except for a slight bump when it shifts....nothing my wife would even notice but when you romp on it, the car shifts so fast that you well never hit the rev limiter and the shifts are a little more aggresive but nothing that would upset anyone. It's actually a great feeling to feel the car shifting when your driving fast, sort of feels comforting that it's doing it's job if you know what I mean.

If you leave the car in full auto mode, and then go WOT from a stop, does the GTM VB ever miss a shift or hit the rev limter?
