Question Automatic tranny under boost.

For the last year or so ive been debating wether or not to buy a TT supra, at thier retarded inflated prices. Or grab a mint G35 coupe (automatic) and throw some greddy TT's on it, and most likely build the bottom end so i can get some decent boost running through them.

so i guess my question is what mods will i have to do to the auto tranny for it to be able to handle 400-600 HP/TRQ ?

im trying to weigh out between the two cars how much $$ ill spend

5AT work is pretty expensive. Fluid cooling should help, valve body mods should help, torque converter may or may not help but is also another mod. Built transmission would be 3k+ before removal and re installation costs.

I have an auto, nothing against an auto but why do you have to have an auto G?

I didn't think about it that way. It's easier and less costly to get to 400whp or wtq with the 6mt on the G for sure.

i just like autos... not to say i dont have fun in manuals but i just dont enjoy driving a manual all the time, it bugs the **** outta me when stuck in traffic and thats most of my driving (city). Maybe part of it is that my friend has a 350z M6 and hes on 2nd tranny, it makes horrible tranny noises. clucthc is crappy and hard to get in gears. maybe its just his car but this isnt the first time ive heard bad storys about manuals in these cars.

I have an upgraded VB and TC and both oil coolers installed from Sam at GTM, I would give him a call and get a better understanding of how much the cost will be and what power the combo would handle.

I can not say how much my configuration will hold until Sam finishes the car sometime next week.

yes you are right. My car is still in the shop but I will say it for the first time here.... My car is coming back with a bang! i do have the auto tranny which was built by SFR. It is good for 1000 HP. So far, no problems. I really have pushed the car though, havnt driven it to its full but I will keep you updated. Keep this thread bumping or pm me if you want details... I was told that I will have the highest HP auto in the country when I get my car back end of this month...
