Turbonetics fuel pump mod

So I installed a Walbro 255 to replace my in tank pump...how necessary is the Turbonetics fuel pump mod (drill stock FPR, remove yellow piece, and drill holes in fuel pump basket)? I just wanted to see what would be bad if I didn't.

My setup is Vortech w/ 3.12, 440 injectors, walbro 255. No fuel return system.

DONT!!!!! take out the yellow piece, drill it out with a little bit larger bit. this is the issue why people cant drive their TN cars under 1/4 tank of gas...

good luck!!
