Vortech Guys Help! *With PIX*

Hey guys, as some of you may know, I got my Vortech SC installed about 3 weeks back. I posted a week back with an issue I was having with my belt screeching. I got that fixed with a new Gates belt and have no problem until this morning after work when I turned on my car.

The new problem is that I HAVE A HORRIBLE FUEL LEAK!! Its coming from the aux Fuel pump that I got with the vortech Kit. Here are some pictures I took.

I haven't driven it hard at all. I turned it on after work and when I left the parking lot I could smell gas. I then pulled over and took a look underneath and saw FUEL SPILLING OUT LIKE CRAZY. It seemed like it was spurting out from the in and out line of the fuel pump! I had a half a tank of fuel and after driving about .5 miles I was all out of fuel!!! My wideband A/F gauge said I was running insanely rich (7.4 A/F) when I first smelled it, even at idle it wouldn't change from 7.4-7.6 A/F... Then when I got into the gas station it was just sitting totally lean (20.9 A/F) and it would change! I have no idea how this would happen. I then pulled into a gasstation and had to call a flatbed to get my car back home! It was a very bad day for me today and I have no answer to any of my questions. Could this be the fuel pump, fuel lines??? Any info is helpful! Thanks
~Manny

Seems like the fittings and/or hoses are not tight enough, sealed properly, or possibly overtightened.

Manny

The FMU might be stuck open or the hose clamp is just not tight . But take the car back to the installer and have them fix thier f-ck ups . Dont bother trying to fix it your self .

I found where its coming from! It the return line from the fuel pump. It is pinched up against a bolt.

To view the video of the leak go here and DL.

Now what do you guys think I should do.. Just go out and get a better fuel line? Or should I just get a new Fuel Pump too?

BTW, Is anyone familiar with Unicip. I got it when I got the Vortech Full kit. I is the UnichipQ. It never came with a map sensor. Is it suppose to not come with one?

The installer is a friend of mine. He is coming over on tueday with a new fuel line. So hopefully this issue will get resolved.

Did anyone else have this same issue? Also, all the votech guys, is there a better placement for the fuel then where it is on my car?

Did that bolt cut into that line? Maybe over a bump or something? If that's the case, maybe just shift the location of that line, or ad some sort of shield to prevent it from scraping on those parts which may potentially cut into the lines.

My guess is that in the pic the car is lifted on a jack a cpl inches at least... When the car is lowered it will settle and where the pump is located (along a main brace) the weight of the car will pinch that hose and any vibrations will cause it to rub and wear thru... The hose needs to be routed to the side of the pump not along the top to keep it from happening.
