Vortech pulley...
Ok guys, I finally got my Vortech kit installed (thanks to Jeremy for selling it to me) and I love it. There is so much pull now it feels endless. I have the 3.33 pulley and I read that the 3.12 pulley is where its at. Is there really that much of difference between the two pulleys? Thanks guys!!!
P.S. I didnt realize how loud it would make my car!!!!

It all depends on how aggressvie or conservative your tune is. I have a 3.12 setup and only make 350 rwhp and 320 ft/lb, while alot of other guys are making 20 to 30 rwhp more with the same setup. I only gained 10 rwhp and 10 ft/lbs more at the peak when I switched pullies. What's important is the area under the curve. The biggest difference between the two pullies is how much faster the 3.12 builds boost than the 3.33. More boost equals more power alot sooner in the rev band even if both setups yielded the same peak numbers. I'm at 1 psi as little as 2200 rpm with the 3.12 and 8 psi at 6k.

1- plenum mods
2-stock cats , HF cats , or no cats
3-exhuast used
4- AT5 or MT6
5- every car is different
6- dyno used
There is a thread over a My350 that a guy with a APS kit on and showed two dyno's . One on a DynoDynamic of 450whp and the same car and tune on a SOCAL DynoJet of 545whp . SO you could dyno on that DD dyno , but then put on a smaller pulley and run to this high reading dynojet [ like a few people on here have ] and then get a huge number . WHich would make it look like you gain a huge amount from the pulley and tuning alone . One tuner isnt going to find or gain much more than a couple whp over the next tuner.

Most of us do our own pulley installs.
Booger, I think we're talking about how much of a difference would a pulley swap make. Of course, other mods will make a difference, but the tune is very important. A stock Vortech makes 330 rwhp with a conservative tune, but with an aggresive tune and no other mods the same car can make 365 rwhp on the same dyno just from the tune.

Your car was last tuned in Chicago and maybe a conservitive tune there . But you could put it on a dynojet dyno in SOCAL and it could come out 410whp with out a new tune at all

My main point is ...we do see some huge gains from going from one pulley down to the next . Some of thoughs huge gains where going from one dyno to the next . So some people get the wrong idea about how much is really gained . Most of the time with nothing else changed a 10 to 15whp gain is normal for each 1 psi in boost gained .
