I'm not even close. My car has never seen a negative temp (F).

Well, this sucks. Just got a call from my installer informing me that the Vortech system will cost approximately $10,000 installed! That's an increase of $2500 from my original quotation. Something about additional fabrication and install hours associated with it being installed on a Automatic Sedan. So frustrating! I guess it's to plan B now with the Stillen. Dammit! Anyone know of twin turbo direct bolt-in kits for automatic sedans?

Vortech makes a system for your car.....05 Sedan /AT5 ...SO no modifications other than whats in the directions is needed . Sounds like this shop is milking you......Run and dont look back !!!!!!!! I would not use that shop ever again !

They're the only authorized dealers for Vortech in my city...how unfortunate.

Any good shop should be able to install the kit . Quite a few guys on this site and My350Z have done self installs . Look around for another shop .

Go to them with a few quotes from other shops and get them to work with you. It shouldn't cost more to fabricate parts for a kit that was built specifically for your car.

Just tell them you are going to be spending ~$7.5k, so if it's not with them it will be with someone else.

I found another place in Vancouver, Bishop Sales Ltd., that does it and they're one of the preferred installers by Vortech which comes with a 3 year warranty on the system instead of the normal 1. They've provided me with the quote which was $1200 cheaper for the system, $1000 cheaper for the install and about $500 cheaper for the dyno tuning than Davenport. Only stupid thing is that it's BC and I have to deal with stupid PST. Oh well, now I'm nit-picking for roughly $400 of taxes.

I also found out that indeed there are NO systems from Vortech that's a bolt on for the 05 G35 4DR 5AT. This other company confirmed it as well with Vortech. Basically, I need to replace the radiator fan with an electric one like what's on the coupe (apparently the sedan comes with a mechanical one...not too sure what the difference really is). Hopefully it won't cost more than $500 for some electrical fans.

Sometimes I negotiate and sometimes I don't like to force a installer to match a lower price. I'm scared that they may do a half *** job on my install simply because they're not getting paid as much as they'd like.

The only problem I can see is your EMS and Fuel. Your EMS should have a great Temp Compensation capability and you should have enough Fuel (Injector Duty Cycle) in reserve. To give you an example, my car is tuned around 70deg F and now it is around 30's in NYC. Because of the Colder Denser Air, I need to bump my Temp Compensation to 17% more Fuel just to keep my A/F ratio on low 11's. In the Summer my Injector Duty Cycle is around 80% at 8psi and 6000rpm, now at 6psi and 6000rpm, my Injectors are already 100% duty cycle. I'm not sure if Split Second is good enough to handle Temp and Pressure change in your Area.

I'm not even counting parts that might freeze up at that weather
