Good luck man, and welcome to the club! Just a suggestion from personal experience, if you don't have a second car, just bum rides if you can. You're gonna get raped on a rental if it takes more than 3 weeks to get fixed.

I cant beleive so many people go FI on their DDs, esp with the high chance of your car being down for a period of time. I have a beater that gets the mileage, the G is the fair weather car.

Hopefully vortech can warranty my blower quickly and do the SI upgrade in less than 3 weeks. Jan and Feb are the worst weather months here in NC, so it would be sitting in the garage regardless. Time to install my springs and front/rear camber arms.

The #'s were a little disappointing bc i lost about 800 rpms on top due to the boost leak. Shoulda been well over 400 hp at redline. I just have test pipes and Injen SES exhuast, and probably the leak is from my Motordyne 5/8" spacer (Jeremy seemed certain of that!)

just be careful with the Si-trim and maybe start off with the stock 3.33 pulley. It sounds pretty potent so far. You'll end up needing even larger injectors and a return fuel system to handle the power. And without cams or headers, the psi could still end up being pretty high and damage the motor.

Bear in mind that JET MECH has all that stuff already and also runs 100 octane gas.

Point taken. At this point I just want to get the car running. I'll be following Jet Mech's experiences.

Its too bad the Dyno at Performance Factory doesnt graph out A/F vs rpm or boost/rpm. That would have been good info as well as a starting baseline.

I run 100 octane gas in my race 70cc scooter, but prolly dont wanna go down that road with my car

I think most of us knew the risks, but with the issues lately, it's bordering on insanity. When I send my unit back to vortech again, to get fixed for the second time, assuming a 3-3.5 week turnaround, the car will have spent almost 7 weeks getting fixed in the first 5 months of having forced induction! That's pretty crazy. I hear you though, I've been thinking about a beater for a while.

Thanks Jeremy,

i'm pulling the spacer, using a silicon coupler between the MAF and the curved intake pipe, going to T-clamps. Vortech is checking over my BPV and also going to get the SI upgrade.

Do you think I needed to go shorter with my belt? it was a 78.5".

So hopefully towards the end of Feb, I can come down and get my tune updated and make some real power LOL

instead of pulling the plenum spacer , try adding one or more gaskets . When I did that to my Crawford plenum it solved the vacuum/boost leak .

i just ordered a new gasket. I was using the stock one on the bottom with no OEM one on the top.

Jeremy seemed pretty confident that he has always had boost leaks with the spacers. I'm tired of chasing my tail. i guess I could try using the new gasket on top, as long as i still could resuse it to replace the original one on the bottom.

Wow, u're going with the the SI upgrade... nice. I wish I knew there was an SI upgrade before I went with the T trim upgrade.

Hey booger, what u think about the SI trim? Ppl are saying its more efficient than our T trim. Would to hear what u think.

That's a great idea. If it works for you, I may try the same thing.

I CAN'T see the difference between the two being anything to fret over , efficenty wise anyway . The T-trim Im sure flows more air and it maybe to much for our motors . The SI may fit the QV better .

Im surprised you try to run it with out a gasket on both sides ! If jeremy says he see's leaks with spacers......I wouldnt run with out putting 2 on both sides. That will take care of your leaks .

well the MD spacer doesnt come with any gaskets at all, so i just left the OEM one in place and put the spacer on top. AT one point, i didnt have a vacuum leak as i was seeing 20inHg. I cant remeber when i started seeing 15inHg, but most likely after i did the injectors. Makes me wanna recheck that Isothermal gasket as well.

2 gaskets on both sides (for a total of 4 gaskets?) at 30$ each, i;d rather just sell the thing

Check the Infiniti dealer on the price of the gasket . I think Nissan's was $26 and Infiniti wanted $15 . I do that with any exchangable parts ...prices seem to very quite a bit some times .

If you pulled the whole plenum off to do injectors . The lower gasket maybe your problem .
