hello everyone..im new here and new to the FI world..i just have a vortech installed a few months ago i notice i be getting a ticking sound when i get close to boost.. i mean when i look at the boost gauge when i get close to 0 it ticks and when i drops back down it ticks again and when it kinda stay in that range it makes a zapping sound.. its very annoying for me i just wanna know if thats normal for all the vortech??

 

i would like to know too. anyone with a vortech kit would like to chime in? could it be the ignition timing controller making the sound or maybe the SS box?

 

it's not detonation is it?

 

Never heard anyone describe such a thing about the Vortech SC . I would stay out of boost and take it back to the installer and have them check it out .

 

+1 I never heard of anything like that. The only problem I had when I got my Vortech installed was that the belt kept slipping. After I fixed that, I had no issues at all!
