i always thought synthetics could go longer than 3000... maybe 4-5k? i JUST switched to synthetic and have only 600 miles so far, so I'm not an expert by any means...

I change my car every 3000 miles with M1 0W40. FI'ed cars create more heat so your oil will break down faster than your NA cars. I suggest to do an oil analysis so you know if your oil is doing it's job. Once you find the right oil then stick with it.

I just had an analysis done (Blackstone) at 4800 miles since the last change.
Castrol Syntec 5 30.... 29K miles on the car.
Report was excellent. They told me to wait another 2000 or 3000 miles and run another test.
So I feel safe going 7.5K. I think a lot depends on your type of driving. Short trips will take their toll.

BUT you're not FI (judging by your sig) you definitely do not want to go 7.5k miles without changing out the oil when you're boosting

I change mine every 3 months or 2000 to 2500 miles.....I did a study and found oil to be cheaper than my built motor
