Supercharger sound? (aka question for SC owners)

Hi to all those lucky devils with "blown" engines, this question is for you. . .not those who can speculate. I had an ATI pro charger with a custom app on an old Ford 4.9L I6 pickup truck, and since the engine was such a low RPM engine (~4300 redline) the charger spun slower than it's designed application (88 Camaro). From this, the sc whine was almost unbearable on the outside. It sounded like a banshee from hell screaming at idle, and would increase in pitch with RPM until it wasn't as noticeable at cruising speeds. My question is for anyone with a centrifugal blower (ATI or Vortech). . .how does the engine sound with the SC? If you roll your windows down, is it screaming loud at idle? Is it blatently obvious to others that you have a modded engine? I was kind of hoping that with technological advances in SC design over the past couple of years, the whine would be minimized. Anyone with any info, please let me know! Or better yet, does anyone have any movies/sound clips of their G with a SC installed and engine running? Thanks a billion!

I'll know sometime tomorrow. Should be finished with my vortech install in the afternoon, It supposedly has SQ (Super Quiet) technology in the mfg process.
The Whipple on my pick-up is completely unnoticeable except under hard acceleration, then its mostly just the air you hear not the blower gearing.

On my other car I had a T-trim from Vortech. To me the whistle and gear meshing sound was too much. people would pull up to me at a red light and say SC huh?? The cat was out of the bag, so I switched it out and went with one of the SQ models.
You cant really hear the SC just a touch of noise nothing inside the cabin at all. Very nice.

My ATI is very loud. Not so loud that I can't enjoy a conversation or listening to the stereo with the windows up. But anyone on the street who knows anything about engines will know there is a SC under there.

ok now i have real time experience with the sound of the Vortech.
In a summation DAMN LOUD!
However 90% of the noise is the blow off valve.
I engineered a silencer for it now all you can hear is the turbine whistle which is very faint. Anyone wanting to install one pm me I'll give you instructions.
