Vortech S/C install

Vortech S/C install
I'm thinkin' I may be one of the few (maybe only) that has done my own S/C install. Anyone needing assistance can PM or if there is any interest I'd be glad to post the things that were not explained well in the install manual in laypersons language. This was not easy.....instructions are not well detailed. BUT!!!! It was all worth it !!!!!

Re: Vortech S/C install
Cool, congrats! I know it's not easy, I installed a S/C on a friends SS camaro and it was a PITA!!! But after the job was complete, it was so satisfying. So if I decide to install a vortech on my G, I could use a few pointers from you . (I sure could have used them for the camaro install). After installing the camaro one, I'm sure this one should be slightly easier, only because we had to drop the fuel tank just to change the fuel pump on the camaro ...PITA!!! Anyway, congrats again!

Re: Vortech S/C install
I read through the install as im interested in a scer in the future. What were some of the hard parts? Oil tap? FMU? Intercooler piping? BOV? SS box? I read through and it seems pretty easy. But like you said seems there some left out.
Thanx in advance..

Re: Vortech S/C install
For sure the oil tap is a pain, you cannot get to the described location without removing the A/C compressor ( just unbolt it and hold it up out the way with bungees) I removed the lower oil pan and would HIGHLY recommend doing that step.
The ECU wiring in the instructions are for a 350Z the color codes are not even close. The ECU pin locations for the Coupe are identical however so just ignore the wire colors and locate the pin as listed in the instructions. Change the plugs to copper core or the engine will misfire. Do this before putting the MAF ducting on or you'll just have to take it all off again later. It may have just been my ignorance but i also wired the fuel pump with the polarity reversed the first time. The large terminal is for the negative lead, not what i'd have logically thought. The pump has polarity markings but their under the protective coating. I also fabricated and installed a breather/muffler for the blowoff valve virtually eliminating all the associated noise.
