FMIC question..
FMIC question..
I just realize something that’s going to bother me. I'm currently in the process of installing the Greddy TT kit on my G35 as a daily driver car. I do understand the fact that the Greddy FMIC is way too big to mount up with the stock bumper bracket (aluminum bar). It just so happen that I got into a lill fender bender yesterday afternoon which totally destroy my front stock bumper (lucky for the Spear NISMO sitting in the garage) it also cracked my grill and shifted my hood a lill. Not bad as it could be all fixed this Sat when I install the Nismo bumper and new grill.
My question is if I mount up my Greddy FMIC is their anyway I could custom cut the front aluminum car so that I will have enforcement in cause an accident like that could happen again. I want to protect the FMIC at all possible. I know for sure that if my TT kit was on without that support bar at that time. I would have been ordering a new FMIC cause of damages.
Any ideas anyone..
** don't really wanna sell the Greddy FMIC ***

I am sure that you can have one fabbed up, I have seen people modify the stock one but honestly the amount of material that was taken out, it probally doesn't really provide that much protection

I notched my brace so I could fit the intercooler, but I think the best way would be to get a new brace fabbed up. I didn't any material away just notched and bent it, so it still has some decent integrity, maybe 75% if not a little more I'd guess.
How? Measure and cut... lol. Oh and I did mount the IC alot closer to the radiator by drilling new mounting holes in the brackets on the IC. This also meant that I had to notch the passenger side brace bracket for the top charge pipe comming from the turbo...

I notched both sides of the bumper brace to fit a large IC also . I didnt want to get rid of it all together . A small little fender bender will destroy the front with out it .
