Supercharger Vs. Turbos

Trying the decide which setup to get, I want the HP but I have heard that turbos have more problems and more need for maintenance than superchargers. Since this is still my play car I dont want to install a system that can cause more problems than it is worth.

Re: Supercharger Vs. Turbos

The Vortech system may be the best solution, in your case...The price is under $5K (not including installation and tuning) and it carries a 3-year limited warranty...So at least the system itself is somewhat protected...As far as the reliability and maintenance of forced induction, well, while it seems that turbocharged systems do need more maintaining and fine-tuning, tuning is key to any system...Have it properly installed and tuned, pay attention to what your car is telling you and maintain it, and don't just beat the crap out of the car and hope it doesn't break =)

Re: Supercharger Vs. Turbos

I think a lot of the guys with the superchargers are having problems with it eating up the belts. I was torn between the two systems but I decided that I'm going with the TT because of the more torque it gives you compared to the SC. Plus I don't want the hear the noise of the SC. I heard the ATI is very loud and the Vortech is not as bad, but still loud.
