Superchargers
do superchargers sound like turbos? Like when the turbo spools up or the BOV goes off.

Superchargers have a continuous whine sound (sorta like a jet on the runway) due to the presence of extra belt(s). They also typically have a BOV that makes noise when boost pressure is released (at shift or when WOT is released).
