I think it might be time for some FI

Been driving the g for about a year and it was good but could use more power. I have searched around, and I have experience with superchargers and some knowledge on turbos but not for a G. However I am looking to build a single turbo kit and am not sure what size turbo would be good for me.

I'm sure there are a lot of people in here that would be able to help me out with this. =)

I have a 5at 03 coupe and my goal right now is about 400whp. I don't want to touch the engine internals yet. I would like it to spool up pretty early if possible and yet be able to achieve my 400whp goal. I would hopefully like to keep a decent volumetric efficiency rather than push a small turbo at high boost levels. Also I am not sure what size wastegate would be good for such an application.

Any input would be helpful and any recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Are you looking to build a system yourself or are you also looking at kits?

If I had it to do over again I would've gotten the GReddy. There's more potential down the road for upgrades.

some good reading? lol iono post up questions you have thats stopping you.. and what your goals are now and 2 years down the line.

its around $2-3,00 on top of a full rebuild for parts and labor if you want to upgrade kits down the line..

HKS GT Supercharger FTW! Or Vortech If its TT I'd personally only go APS or JWT Since you're an 5AT like me, get a supercharger and mod up the tranny a bit, 400whp with the amount of torque will be a bit stressful on your block but even more stressful on your tranny, time for a tq converter and vb upgrade if you go FI.

you still won't get 400 hp out of it without a lot of work bro lol. The vortech system would have been an actual system you could achieve your 500 hp goal with, and it has far more potential than the HKS system lol. Oh, GTM....

I would recommend for what you have said either the Powerlab Single turbo kit or the SFR single turbo kit. Those will get you 400 to the wheels out of the box.

Lawy'dU, FUVCK U!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehe JK JK Bro, thanks for your opinion and advice as always, but I think Sam already got one to 395whp the other day I'll just have my fingers cross, i did add water/meth, hope that helps, again this is all on a stock block, so if I dont get 400whp, oh well. I'm sure I'll honestly enjoy the hks more then my procharger, and another good reason I bought it so I have that carb-legal sticker when I pop my hood But hey what are your numbers?

also looked into the vortech and hks. I have had a vortech before on my maxima and i got it to about 400whp with corresponding modifications so i know its more than possible on a G. as far as the HKS, isn't it not upgradable? With the vortech i could upgrade the trims and pulley sizes to put out more. I havent seen any such upgrades for the HKS.

perhaps i should wait a little while then to see if upgrades follow for the HKS... also.. does the HKS s.c use a regular v-belt and pulley or do the pulleys have teeth?

When I talked to Sam at GTM, he liked how he could do a pulley swap on an HKS supercharger in 20 minutes...and not have to change any belts somehow.
