This isn't about wether or not you can afford a car, it's about wether or not you can afford a G35 plus be able to boost it without going into massive amounts of debt.

But then well paying internships and a free ride to school helped a lot with that

I managed to have my boosted G's, an STi, BMW vert, S4, and now a C6 by opening a fully licensed paintball business at 14. Had an e-commerce website and a retail store by 16, ran a tournament which was a big success. Maybe some of you are on PBnation and heard about me, 908 Paintball
Anyways drug dealing or rich parents is the conclusion some jump to quickly, however there are a few of us out there who just made right moves early.

By the time I was 19 I had a Jeep SRT8 (with an Intake =D ) and I had my G35 boosted to 7.5 PSI.
Didn't buy the G35- Every mod was mine- gas (till my new job) insurence was mine.
And I definitely pay hardcore for that jeep.

I'm 33 and in the air force. my girl is a lawyer. she's buying a silver srt-8 cherokee within the year. the g is paid for and i'm keeping it. i might have overspent compared to most when it comes to parts but all my parts are top notch. i'm thinking once we get a bigger house(with a bigger garage
)i'm thinking i might put a gt-r next to my 600whp g35. but that won't be for at least another 3-5 years once the price stabilizes on the gt-r. we'll see. btw, i've owned a boosted 93 civic ex(wrapped around a tree), a superchared gs-r and boosted, built turbo gs-r(350fwp)
