Def. check the engine before doing any work, I would at a minimum do some tranny work as it is an auto.

If you want to keep it safe then go SC over turbo but that's your choice.

I have 104,000 miles on my 04 right now but 99k have been boosted miles

+1 on the engine checkout first. IMO it all depends on how far you want to go. If you are looking for 350-380whp and it checks out, go ahead and boost it. If you get a good EMS and a good tune and take care if it, the car should last a long time. It may blow up, but that is a risk with any amount of miles. Just make sure you can afford a re-build it that day comes.

I cant believe how much our cars dropped in price. KBB says trade in for a 03 at with those miles are from 8000-10700. I was thinking the car would be from around 15K. This just makes me sad.

Good find for the OP.

have it all checked out but i would do the tranny first you need to do it no matter what so get it out the way...the engine should be fine but have it tested.

I put 50k miles of boost and 10k miles of tracking on the stock motor never had an issue with 408rwhp.... I now have 113k but a built motor just cuz i wanted to

+1 on building the motor at the mileage, its really not that much extra if you do a mild build. It will be more than worth it in the end.

Upgrades for a 5AT are;
Valvebody
Torque convertor
Tranny internals themselves
Upgraded oil cooler
Upgraded tranny cooler

I wouldn't do it. Not worth it IMO... Your looking at about 10,000$ worth of building before you can even joke about putting 1 psi in your car.

I guess that's the 'right' way to do it. Just walk into performence factory with 20,000$ and tell them you want to go fast.

I'd just get a CAI and exhaust and puts around personally though. @ 100k+ miles.

100-300% of what the car is actually worth.

Anyone considering going FI should never look at how much the car is worth as it's always the same outcome.....another money pit

Modding is not an investment ... just a real bad addiction
