I'm sure its a great deal and I'm sure its in great shape. As has already been said, its a well known car. Still, how hard would it be to meet at the guy's tuner since you'll be out there anyways? A good check over and such (maybe a dyno run so you'll know how much your getting) cant hurt as well as to make sure everything is in running shape since its been sitting a bit. Offer to pay for half of the checkup.

If you buy the car, you'll have just gotten it out of a shop that confirms the car is in excellent (or not) working order. That'd make me feel alot better if i was gonna drive it a long way back to home, thats for sure.

Another thought is, after buying the car, have you considered having it transported? Beautiful looking car and our paint has been known to chip easily not to mention the state of the roads in between point a and point b.

Obviously, transporting it is up to you but if I were buying a show quality car, I'd do everything I can to keep it in the show quality condition. I'd do the garage thing regardless and especially if I planned on driving it home.

Thanks for the advice I will talk to him about it. I thought about shipping it originally but decided it would be nice to take a little road trip before I deploy. I will make sure to slap on the blue tape lol. I plan on actually driving this car once I get it so I am sure it will get it's share of rock chips before I am done with it.

How soon are you going out there? Maybe theres time to have a clear bra put on ..... no blue tape, no rock chips .. ($600 seems about average going price). It'll sure look better than blue tape

I am hoping to fly out there next weekend. I know a local guy that does rockblocker so I will have it put on when I get home. Looks like the blue tape is gonna have to do lol. I had the paint chip issue with my Scion... what is with the paint on cars these days?
