Techs or others drive your car?

I love that my wife doesn't know how to drive a standard. That got me thinking about all the possibilities I might encounter where someone else would normally ask to drive your car. Techs for service, oil changes, valet, etc...

What have you guys done in those situations? I imagine having to give a class to the dumb driver if they don't just let me put it wherever it needs to go.

I don't do shiet, I just give it to them, though I REALLY HATE IT. Theres times I have given it to someone at a tire shop and told them not to drive it, and then when I left and came back, another employee told me the guy peeled out in my car right when I left. Once you're boosted, especially in a g35, everyone is going to want to know how it feels and runs. Of course there's many people out there that care about the cars they're taking care of, but some just don't care. They waste my gas, scratch my front bumper, and ware my tires out more I just usually hand them the keys, cross my fingers and know that I'm suing the shiet out of them in every way I can if they do anything really wrong hahaha

just deal with it but I usually ask to park the car myself if i feel they look like a bunch of **** for brains and their eyes light up when they see me pull up

if you really are worried then just slip them some cash and tell them to leave it there.

I have made up a card with all the required warnings that I keep in my console. If I have to leave the car at a shop, I put the card on the dash in from of the speedometer. (They would have to move it to drive.) The warning talks bout the low front end and boost controller when using the parking brake. If they screw something up, I can always claim that accepted responsibility by removing the card and driving the car anyway.

I absolutely hate valet parking... I've seen them back up a clean, fixed up GS into a curb, messing up the bumper and fender... I have stories of my own too. If I see "mandatory" valet parking, I just ignore them and park myself (in a spot they want my car in would be better). If they touch my car without my consent, me and them will have a problem and it will be personal. Management can get involved too... I have no problem fighting more than one person at a time.

I valet all the time, well sort of.. I park the car right infront of the place i am going to, valet comes, i give him the keys, pay for the valet parking, and give additional $10-15 to not move the car. I figure if i park it in a lot, it would cost me atleast $25, and if i am looking for street parking, driving and finding one in Boston is very difficult. So why have the headaches, an extra $10 and the car is right where I parked it.

Haha where do you live dofu? East side somewhere?

What do you mean about using the parking brake with boost controller, slider? That cheat sheet is a pretty good idea; I may have to steal that. Though I don't think you'd have any legal recourse on grounds of moving the card.

Valet is always a bad dream. Just watching them trying to figure out how to put the car in reverse drives me crazy. MOOOVE!

Tech's at our dealership couldn't care less about driving customer's G's...

They all drive much faster cars (except for an occasional G...) modded SRT-4, modded Si, modded 240, modded R6, modded civic hatch etc....

And I'm sure you've seen the Z's....

Oh, and our tech's actually know what they're doing... they can easily switch valet mode to another map.

The boost controller is connected to the parking brake so that it only comes on if the parking brake is engaged. If the controller wants to keep the car running for 2 minutes when you turn the car off, it will only do so if you put on the parking brake. It's a bit of a surprise to take the key out and have the engine stay on if you're not expecting it.
