I see red flags everywhere.

Not much of a scoop

just a pretty involved scam.

ebay auction that says first $1200 takes it. I called the guy tuesday and he took my Amex number and was going to run the $1200. He has a website set up under repotemple.com looked legit to me. I figured he repo'ed a G35 with SC on it and didn't know what he had. The ad says that if was his and that he took it off before trading his G into a dealer. He had a (somewhat) accurate Vortech kit number and I was just too excited to think straight, but i figured that reality was a bit different. Did a Google search came up with conflicting info.

Wed morning Amex sent me an email about multiple suspected fraudulent charges from cycle trader and post monster. Someone used my card to place ads for motorcycles.....I guess to get people to send cash for deposits.

Thing is, the guy called me back and insisted he was liget. Started spewing tax id#'s, etc......I bought it was going to give him a diff amex card # but did some gumshoeing of my own. Spoke with Amex then cycle trader and finally (after 4 hours) found out that one ad that was placed had his cell # as the contact #. On hold with the police in Nashville now.

Guess I'll have to pony up and pay retail. I know, I know...if it sounds too good to be true.....
I'm a dumb@ss. no money out of my pocket since I used a CC.

contact info is on repotemple.com

I'm not sure what I should post without worrying about slander/harassment/etc..... but his contact info is on the ebay auction as well as his website!
