So if the vortech is carb legal but will throw out SES codes what do you guys do when it comes to smog checks? you obviously can't drive it to the smog test station with an SES light on..

I think only the 3.33 pulley is Carb legal...If you drop to the 3.12 I don't think it is...

Not necessatily true.

If you have a stand-alone, there are often thrown codes as a result (that do not indicate failure/damage). Also, different ecu's from different model years, mayt react differently to stand-alone ems's and boost.

OP if you find out your tune/setup is ok and want to eliminate the cel, see:

^He doesn't have a standalone so I fail to see how your post is relevant. With a utec you shouldn't throw a code. If my split second box can go with no codes, so should a utec.

Why would a standalone throw codes when a piggyback doesnt? I have one of the cheapest piggyback out there, the EU and I didn't throw any codes... but a $2K Kpro will for no reason???

I piggyback is still running off stock settings during idle and cruise, all you have done is minus out fuel and if done correctly can keep it within the stock ECU parameters as far as the ECU is looking for on air fuel but on a stand alone the whole map is custom and you may not get the exact air fuel ratio so you may not be within what the ECU is looking for and set off the lights.

aligned correctly.. how shouldthey be aligned? 1 is on he bracket and 1 is on the blower and then tension 1.. they are all in a fixed position arent they, well except for tension and that goes where ever is tight enough

he means that you should be able to take a straight edge and touch flush all the pulleys. If not they are not aligned.

if you are breaking cog teeth, your belt is wayy too tight.

yeah thats what i was thinking when i felt it b4 i took it off... it was way too tight.. i couldnt flip it at all... i had to order a new today... should be here at 9am... got 2 so now i got a spare.... the belt almost looks like it was starting to seperate, also looks like maybe oil got on it and dried... i have the belt off now and i can rip teeth off very easy with my fingers..

ill check to make sure they are all straight... but if they wernt straight wouldnt i get a noise or belt slippage?
