agreed. I wouldn't let a torque spec on a drain plug be a show stopper. Are you using a copper crush washer?

That would be fine.

Don't use a 3/8" or 1/2" drive to tighten the plug. If you have a socket style screwdriver then use that, or use a 1/4" drive w/ a 6" arm. It doesn't take much to tighten it.

Is anyone having trouble with the plug leaking?
I am using a copper crush washer and it's still leaking. It actually feels like it's stripped. Either that or the bolt is not long enough to tighten. It was tightened at the correct torque spec, but still leaking.

Yeah mine is stripped and leaks one drop a day, I even had it heli-coiled a few years back and it worked for awhile but now I need to go back to the stock oil pan and buy a spacer instead.

Anyone know where I can pick up a stock oil pan

Yeah that APS copper crush washer is no good...mine was leaking a little bit so we switched to a honda washer and it seems to have stopped the leaking so far.

If you need a torque spec to put your mind at rest...you the factory 28 ft/lbs. That's what I would use. Especially if it has a crush washer also.

i just don't get why you would use an aluminum pan. They had to know these things were going to strip out. Don't get it.
