Gauges

So I am installing a vortech on my car. I have ordered a AEM wideband A/F, boost and oil presure gauges. What else should I watch? Where can you mount anymore gauges other than the pillar?

Might want to look into exhaust temp and fuel pressure and oil temp. I am going to relocating my boost and A/F gauge to right where the factory nav goes and adding a fuel pressure gauge. I have my gauges mounted here:

Where did you get that gauge pod? Or is it totally custom?

Yes, totally custom. I think this is how Infiniti would have done it if they offered FI from the factory.

Boost, IMO, is not really necessary; if you have no boost, you'll know.

I would definately add EGT.

Remember you are almost NEVER going to be looking at these gauges. You either want gauges that will log for a few seconds, a CAMP2 style setup, a ECU that can log. You really want a ECU that will shut everything down if some perameter gets dangerous.

When I am racing (at the track) there is only one gauge I am focused on, and thats the tach. Sometimes I can glance at the boost or AF for just a 1/4 second it seems. Things are happening fast. Gauges are good but you won't look at them nearly as much as you think.

EGT will tell you if you're having problems. Even a badly running unmodified engine can show telltale signs via EGT.
