Re: Supercharger Question..

I know that stillen has one. Go to www.stillen.com . I believe the ATI procharger can work on the auto, but I'm not sure.

Go with Vortech, I did on my 2003 AT G35C and it works great.

Re: Supercharger Question..

Absolutely. Tuning needs to be done and good tuning is absolutely critical to the reliability and longevity of your engine and system.

Re: Supercharger Question..

Go with the Vortech......Its the only one made that is good to go right out of the box..[not counting Stillen] Its tuned very safely and if you want more power you can have it tuned . Ive had mine on for a month and a half and I love it . Go to MY350Z.com and do a search plenty of post there about it

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

Re: Supercharger Question..

The JATCO 5 speed AT has an absolute input shaft torque limit of 333 lb/ft so careful. Obviously it can handle over loads for a little while. But reverse engineering your RWtorque numbers indicates a 15% overload at 4500 rpm.

Monitor the ATF temps going into the in rad heat exchanger. Some extra cooling would be in order in summer......watch the ATF for any color shift [the dyes are temperature sensitive and warn you when beginning to wash out].

Lubeguard Red [not Black] should be helpful in extending AT life.......since it won't be covered [with supercharger].

Re: Supercharger Question..

I know a shop that will get you the vortech for cost. Around $4500 for the polished kit. PM me and I'll send you details.

Re: Supercharger Question..

My 2 cents.

You need to determine if you want more top end or mid range power - because you can't have both. Roots type blowers (ala Stillen) are of course for low/midrange, while the centrifugal types (Vortech, ATI, in taht order of preference) are for top end. Also, the latter type are noisier (whistle-type sound) than former.

Also, keep in mind that the tuning is everything. It can and DOES mean the difference b/w a highly optimized/efficient setup and a blown motor on the VERY first WOT run, so be careful.

OK, as far as what will FIT on your car - everything out there. It is only the 03, 03.5, and 04 5AT sedans that have the crank-driven fan and will only accept the Stillen SC without any fan modifications. The 04.5 sedans are full electrical.

Re: Supercharger Question..

Just had a sc question too. I heard that intercooler is not necessary for something less than 6psi but the vortech is 8psi so do all of you that have a vortech have a intercooler? Thanks

Re: Supercharger Question..

Yes - I have not seen a recently produced SC without an intercooler.

I was wondering where you got these numbers from. Perhaps a web site you could direct me to. Thanks ---

Re: Supercharger Question..

Stage 2 is the street legal C.A.R.B. approved setup. For stage 3 you buy a different pulley that gives you an extra pound of boost if you want to go to the track (not street legal).
