why so slow
Here's another no no... You have to let the car to warm up before you start going WOT, the oil need to reach a certain temp before it can protect your car. Dont do this again
RPM will always be faster than boost with SC like Vortech. With Centrifugal SC you dont hit full boost until Redline..
haha im not that clueless i know i have the vortech and the injectors are stock because i havnt upgraded the serp pulley so theres no need for new injecors yet. I admit i dont know much but i have had the car checked out already by phantasm and they did a dyno and a compression test and it was ok. I cant answer your question yet about the a/f because i need to go drive it and look but the lights on my guages recently went out so i gotta get that fixed along with an idler pulley where the bearing went bad. and also sorry for not knowing alot about mod cars im trying to learn. the car isnt heavily modified all thats in it is the vortech. And what is the difference between Engine control unit, and engine management system?
The ECU is the computer in the car that controls all the engine parameters (IE A/F, timing, etc etc)
An Engine Management System allows you to reprogram those parameters to meet your needs.
Since you have a vortech, I hope you arent running the stock programming. If you are, go out and get a stand-alone engine management system (UTEC recommended) and go to someone who is experienced in tuning these cars in your area.
Are you running a front mount intercooler as well?

Maybe you're not boostin because you're not at WOT. Eventhough the vortech is a centrifigual charger that does increase boost with RPM, it only boost at WOT. Boost doesn't just come with the RPM, i think most people forget that (or don't know that) about the vortech.
Regardless, get it checked out by a G/Z specialist that have tuned or worked on a vortech before. Since you and the prior owner don't know anything about the car, it's best to get to knwo it, or better yet, just get it tuned so you atleast know where you stand with the car.
Driving it around and asking us questions..won't give you the answer, because we simply don't know what went into that car or what stage of the build it's currently at.
Goodluck...it's a tough forum, i guess we expect the members to use better judgement..i guess we're a lil snobby..haha

OP: Where are you located? Maybe we can recommend some shops for you to bring your car to get checked out cuz it definitely needs some work done...tuning at the very least.

Tell us where you live. You need to get it to a better known tuner for the VQ near you.
Seriously... if you are third owner and if the girl was driving it like this before you then I want your motor. Thats one tough son of a bitch if it hasn't blown yet and you are not tuned, have no EMS, stock injectors. I mean, basically there is just a supercharger bolted to a stock car. That is a HUGE no-no, even by the standards of some of the craziest people here.
You need to go to Enterprise and rent a car to drive until you can figure this thing out. I'm just trying to save you, at the least, $3000 for a new motor.
You are misinformed that since you haven't upgraded the pulley that you don't need new injectors. I think the stock injectors are 290cc, most people at the VERY least get 440cc injectors as soon as they go boosted. If you do decide to drive that thing you need to keep it out of boost and under about 2500RPMs.
Get into the marketplace and start looking for a used UTEC, or find one new online. Anything is better then nothing (most the time). If VQ was in the dictionary it would have "made of glass" written right after it. People with conservative tunes by some of the most well known tuners out there STILL blow their engines with thousands invested... you're walking on eggshells my friend... I'm just trying to pound that into your head.

haha, u said phantasm. LOL. ya they work on some serious BS there.
do u have a wideband gauge? i'm in raleigh and could look it over.
if they dyno'd it, post that up, bc it should have your AF curve in it as well.
