So i got my used SC vortech kit... just wanted to see if people saw anything major missing or anything. what gaskets am i going to need? didnt get any.. thanks! oh btw, i do have a walbro sitting here, just didnt get a pic of it.

what package is that? Im assuming V2? I thought about buying a used kit but convinced myself to buy a new tuner kit so that everything needed to install is ready to go..

 

That black box is the SS box or the fuel controller for the vortech kit and looks like you got a nice plug to go right to the ECU so you won't have to splice.

Also, the fuel lines isn't a return system but the auxiliary pump for the vortech. It splices into the existing fuel line and supplements the S/C with your SS box tells it to. Go to the vortech website and you can download an instruction manual that will help you understand your pieces and parts much better.

 

Looks like you got a full kit from seller.

But what about ACT/Exedy??

 

yeah i bought off sin3.. he pretty much gave me everything including the clutch and ****.. really good deal. cant wait till it's in.

Its nice the SS box is wired into a patch harness makes for an easy install.

 

man i really wanna do the install myself, but i'm just scared. it seems easy. i'm just so confused about all the oil lines and gauge wiring...

also, this set up with the vortech stock flas that it comes with.. i should make around 340-360 right? and if i update to like utec or something, it will be better tuned?

 

^ you should be fine with FMU/SS.

 

You'll be in the same neighborhood with the vortech system software. Its all about the tuner and what he/she is good at. If they are familiar with the SS box and software you'll be in the same ball park as the other systems.

That power rating is in the right area for the stock pulley.

It easy to install the vortech, installation is not hard just time consuming and for you, tapping the oil pan will be your biggest challange since you have the wiring harness adapter.

If you decide to DIY, plan on the car being down 3 days and have a back-up plan for transportation. GL.

 

honestly that's the only thing that's preventing me to do it myself, the oil tapping... i have NO IDEA how to do anyhthing with anyh of that oil/wiring/fuel stuff, i'm sure i could figure it out with the help of some friends, but man, just payiong for it sounds good haha

I never did a S/C install either but I went ahead and did the Vortech when I got it in my garage with common tools (except the oil tap). The instructions are very good from Vortech and it just took time and patience. If your an average joe around a car and you can distinguish a fuel line from a vacuum line, then installation of the vortech is simple.

And the kit you have is even easier because of the completed wiring and looks like everything is still together, that makes installation of all the fuel, oil, vacuum and wiring that much smoother.
