Vortech on 07 Coupe?

Hey guys,

We're going Vortech Ver.II FI on my G and may have run into a little issue. Shop checked with Vortech for specs on the install and they have never installed their system onto an 07 revup 6mt coupe before, just an 06.

07 Still has the same VQ35DE engine as the 06 but just checking to see if anyone had any fitment or other issues. Or anyone that has done it to chime in.

We're still going to go forward with the install but i was wondering if anyone has any input on it or went through this already.

shouldn't be any different. Same engine, same chassis. The only extra features that the 07 has and the 06 didn't was the little button on the door handle that you push to unlock your door....which has nothing to do with a supercharger! The thing is that Vortech hasn't put one on an 07 so they can't confirm that it will fit. It will fit as long as you get the one for your revup/non-revup engine.

I'll be installing a vortech on a 07 auto next month. "LISTENING".

The guy talked to vortech and they said they never made a 07 specific kit cause they thought the 07 was gonna be the dual intakes.

Is this a sedan or coupe because if this is an 07 coupe there are no dual intakes (ask me how I know)

your gonna have a VQ35DE in that 07 just like the 06, its the same exact car with a different build date.

if you meant a 07 sedan then your talking about a VQ35HR with dual intakes which is a whole different animal

As the title of the thread states its an 07 coupe.

I feel 99% good on this install but the fact that Vortech themselves have never installed on an 07 makes me be a little more cautious. I mean, the engine only has 16k on it..

Then you are 100% fine. Consider the car an 06 and proceed on your merry way with all your new power

If they did it to an 06 they already have done it to the 07 because its the same setup!

Was just thinking. For the 07's the alternator belt setup is different. They removed the useless idler pulley that used to be for the mechanical fans. They actually use a shorter belt now. So that will be the one difference between the 06 and 07. So now the issue what belt to run? From looking at the diagram. Looks a shorter belt is all thats needed since the belt doesnt touch the pulley much anyways. But it does look like it puts some tension on the pulley from vortech
