TN junk kit

im pretty upset right now with this p.o.s. kit! the car is up at atx getting a utec install and tune. apparently the spring the the wastegate that comes with the kit is too stiff. and those injectors are way way way too small. what i want to know is why do they put stuff in a kit that doesnt work? so now i had to get a "softer" wastegate spring and 550cc injectors. im not mad because i was planning on doing injectors as soon as i got a job. but i figured i would get a conservative tune right now. but thats not possible because with those injectors that come with the kit the car is running ridiculously lean. im just mad because i dont think tn should be putting a kit out like this. that stiff spring in the wastegate was causing me to over boost and in turn thats why im pretty sure i blew a hole in both sides on my motor. sorry i just needed to vent im ok now haha

wow man, that sux

the injectors are def too small, i just got the tuner kit and bought DW 650cc

i've never heard bout the spring being too stiff, but some did have overboost problems. there is a wastegate relocation kit that comes w/ all new kits that takes care of that

was your kit used?

I personally know 4 people here in town who got the TN kit and didn't have any issues with it. Strange... They are all in the 370-400whp range.

yeah the problem wasn't because of your wastegate spring.. the problem was the location of the wastgate itself. the previous years kits (sounds like you have) had that design flaw, because of the piping and where the location of the WG was, it was causing massive over boosting on cars. But i believe kits from 05 or 06+ have this fixed.. but yeah everyone knows that when you buy that kit you have to buy like 3-6 things to make that kit work great ie: utec, injectors, etc.. sorry to hear about your issues.

Who the hell is working on your car? None of this sounds right. 550cc injectors should be plenty enough for any TN setup. Anything bigger would be overkill

Sounds real fishy. You said you brought the car with the kit on it? Are you sure the previous owner didn't tinker with a few things prior to the sale?

mine worked fine. I had the 380cc injectors that came with the kit and had a reliable 380whp. The TN kit has its limitations, and you should have done a little research prior to purchasing a car. Its pretty ridiculous to bad mouth a good company when plenty of information regarding their product is readily available.

those 380s had to be at their max i was running 6lbs of boost and they were already maxed out... thats y i went to 550s i was perviously at 350whp and was running lean with those 380s...

all im saying is if your buy this kit and expect to bolt it up and use their wonderful flash your crazy. the car needs to be checked out and i feel that all that flash is good for is getting you to your tuner. knowing what i know now about it i wouldnt hit boost on that flash. with the flash my car was running lean across the whole board... that shouldnt be if i am supposedly able to bolt this kit up and send then my ecu for a flash.

dont come at me thinking im some a hole who got a turboed g because i want to go fast. dont think i havent done any of my research. i am a trained mechanic i know whats going on im just letting people know about MY experience with this kit. im happy for everyone else who has the kit and it runs fine but for me that wasnt the case

yeah you will be good with the 550's... but your over boost problem is because of the location of the WG

you could go for a JWT FMU. This would increase the pressure from your fuel pump and allow you to push much more fuel through your 380cc injectors. You will get better fuel control with this as well, than just getting bigger injectors and even getting a fuel return line.
