If the transmission has already been slipping, then the clutch packs are already damaged and need to be replaced.

Also the torque number is what really matters, not the horsepower. i.e. 400rwhp with only 300 ft-lbs of rear wheel torque is a lot less stress on the transmission than 400rwhp/390rwtq.

This is why it is important to install a valve body upgrade before any damage occurs, once the damage is done there is no going back.

Hope this helps,

My mistake- I did mean to say torque.

I guess a more concise question would be. Is there stronger clutch packs? Or should I just wait to burn these out and replace? If that's the case what do you do to prevent replacing all the time.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what constitute "building the rest" of the tranny really is

I appreciate it.

I doubt u would have seen it before unless u took it before. Trango is the only way to go.

This is wat it looks like...

If your tranny is slipping then your tranny is gone for sure. Either u can rebuild it with the GTM one or buy an used tranny and upgrade your VB and put it in that one. I would also recommand a good torque converter if ure going to take out the tranny. It will save u on the labor.

Oh, forgot to mention I happen to have a 05 tranny with no VB inside rdy to go and a NEW edge racing torque converter (stall 3000 rpm) for only 500 + shipping

Exclamation Transgo???

Beautiful picuture but...

This is what Sharif put in my car 2+ years ago and it never did work right. Tried two of them then went back stock. Never did find out what the problem was.

I think IPT comes highly recommended. Proceed with caution!

I was actually referring to the manner in which he decided to attempt to clarify the appearant mis-informations of a bunch of know-it-all peckerheads trying to talk about more than they know.

Even when some of them are talking trash about his business lol...

Ie. "professional"

How long have you been running that, and what power are you putting down to the wheels with what setup?

Did the AAM VB+ tranny cooler + TConverter and pushing 540. Like George said, its smart to add these parts to the tranny. My next step is a fully rebuilt tranny.
