I went with L19's for my car. In the grand scheme of things the couple hundred over HR studs is well worth peace of mind to me...

The difference is the upgraded IC is alot thicker... I can't fit my bumper support over it...
You can't fit the bumper with either IC.
As for the 4 vs 3, if you have an HR with dual intakes you get 4, one intake =3.

WRT Pauter rods

For your power goals the Pauters are ginourmous overkill. If you don't have them already , you should consder plenty strong and much lighter rods from any of these sources. ie. The eagles meet you power goals and cost much less.:

Carillo
Crower
GTM
Eagle.

Great build - nicely researched. If you can spring for a better EMS (e.g. Haltech) then you can get larger injectors (at no increased cost) and it will still start up and idle like stock.

Who's doing the build?

Yea I would do Haltech if I were lookin for more power gains but I already have a Race car BMW that’s full standalone and high power gains..

The Utec is not a bad unit by any means
The problem I see with the Utec being that it’s a piggy back is limited injector/fuel imput size and minimal delay time. other than that it should be a good platform to control fuel and timing.

Frank in Bmore is doing the instal/build. And my master tunner Dave of FT is hookin up da digits..

BTW I have a "Top Secret" project that im working on for my "airflow intake" i will let you know guys know when im done. Get ready for a LONG thread fams..

"Top Secret"

So........are you back from Overseas? Any chance I can see the progress on your air flow project when I pick up the FMIC Tuesday? I'm in the middle of trying to decide which aftermarket front bumper I am going to use not only to get the max air....but also has the "Look" I am after.

Keep us posted!

Next stage upgrade cooling mods to include Fuel return sys. (yes fuel is a process to cool).
