my suggestion for you guy, why i have a spare DD sitting at home? i use for work. I barely use my G unless i go somewhere else...or only if i go far then i take it out....rather than that its at home sitting dust. If you DD the G35...youll have bunch of problems trust me....just get like a HONDA or something then DD the HONDA. Its cheap and realiable on gas.

Go for it Mikey!

It's def a tough decision especially for a DD, I think eventually you'll do it though, especially once your done with your current project.

I say do it and if the stock block blows up just rebuild it and turn it into a super reliable monster. if you have that kinda loot....otherwise buy a beater

I would go with the Jim Wolf 530BB setup. It's super reliable and one of the partners for Jim wolf runs it on his stock 350z. No problems super reliable and it's a twin setup.

Go with STILLEN. With it you have reliability to the max regardless of what some other guys say. The belts dont cost that much when they need to be changed. I had the kit for almost 2 years w/ no problems. If you want dd drivability then go with them.

Mines my DD right now and it's doing just fine...but I used to have a Acura CL-S and then sold it but this winter I'm getting another DD...My opinion you'll be fine but a second car never hurts...cheap accord/civic

Hey Mike, I'm in the exact same position you are - my G's my daily and have heard good things about the Stillen SC for a daily (stage 4). I think there are some internals we might need to swap out before going SC? (there's awesome info on the sticky in the FI section...) I talked to a reliable source at Riverside Infiniti who swears by the Stillen SC for reliability on a DD, and for good torque in the low-mid range. My 'Sunday driver simply 'won't suffice if my G breaks down (hence the fact that it's my Sunday driver). I'll keep you updated on any new info in my research, and will keep my eyes on this thread. Best of luck Mike!

Nothing against superchargers (I started with the intention of using one), but quite a few people who start out with them get addicted to boost, then re-do everything to go turbocharged due to the upper HP limits of the S/C's on our cars (it's not the same as supercharging a large V8).

If you are the type of person that will be perfectly happy at the S/C HP levels for quite a while (still quite a bit higher than any other stock G), then a S/C might be the right decision. If you think you might get the additional HP and then want more, you may consider a turbocharger setup. It might also be worthwile at looking at some of the smaller twin turbocharged setups that still provide good low end torque.

From my experience, I started out wanting around 400 whp, then wanted 500 whp, then wanted 600 whp. Now I'm looking for more than that... LIke I said, boost can be very addicting.

EDIT: Check out this thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/forced-...91-octane.html

This guy is getting 300 ft-lbs of torque at 2700 RPM on a JWT TT setup. I don't know if any of the superchargers will get you that. Still, he's within a relatively safe HP range for a stock block if he doesn't abuse it too much. If he ever wants more HP, he can just increase the boost (though at that point he'll probably want to build a short block to handle the extra HP). In comparison to a S/C, it will cost a bit more. Given the flexibilty for future upgrades, though, it might be worth it.

Nice. About 340 wtq at 2700rpm on my setup. Small turbos on a stock block FTW when it comes to daily driving.

custom gt25r's from AAM, there's a build thread on my350z from back in Jan., I believe. From what I've heard it performs similar to JWT 530BB (my original choice) but flows a bit better.

I ran the stillen s/c from mid 2003 to mid 2007 with a little over 30,000 miles before i went with the greddy twins. The only problems i ever had was the tiny 4 rib belt didnt last very long and when i went stage4 the fmu died 2 days later. It was a very reliable kit and served me well but is overpriced for the small amount of power it made.

Ever since i put on the greddy twins i still have not had any problems and even at 6psi it would have destroyed the stillen stage4 and i DD my car and have over 25,000 miles on the twins.

What were your numbers with the Stillen?
DAMN even at 6psi the Stillen couldn't handle it... What are your thoughts on the Vortech? Did you swap out internals for TT? Boost is addictive, I think I caught the bug!
