My blower has the CARB number stamped on it too, but he wouldn't even look at it. Like I said, nothing I was going say would've kept him from giving me a ticket. I've decided to fight it and not get the smog test. I shouldn't have to. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the guy is a tool.

Showed up for court with my original receipt and CARB exempt letter from Vortech's website. Well, the cop (CHP) wrote the ticket on 21Jun and wrote down for me to show up to court on 20Jun. The clerk told me the ticket wasn't even in their system (San Diego). She told me that the two dates didn't jive, so they kicked it back to him to fix. Now I have to wait to see if anything shows up in the mail or I can check online. I'll keep you guys informed on what happens next.

 

Where in San Diego were you pulled over? What freeway?

that cop- wow what a jerk! Do you think he meant to write july 20 and honestly messed up? hmm.. that is just unfortunate that you have to just sit around and wait to see what happens next, compared to not having to deal with all this in the first place since nothing was wrong!

 

Hopefully the ticket gets thrown out.

 

i would pm g35chippie if i were you, he helps us norcal people out by at least pointing out the charge and explaining it. and since you are carb legal im sure he could advise you in the best way to take care of it

 

I've been checking the website for the past 3 weeks and nothing has showed yet. You guys think the cop actually went back with the pics and asked fellow officers their opinion, to which they then called him a tool and he deliberately lost the ticket rather than face embarrassment in court? It could happen.

 

lol... could be.. It happened to me when a cop issued me a speeding ticket (23mph above speed limit) while I was just cruising. I would know if I'm speeding or racing but I wasn't and I didn't even see him until I exited the freeway. I showed up in court with an attorney and as soon as he saw my lawyer he scratched his head and told the judge he lost his book. It was funny coz he does have a stack of paper about a foot high right next to him.

 

Showed up to court, but the cop didn't...case dismissed!

"thats racist..." then they feel all dumb and just walk away.. lol..
