Going TT...what clutch?

so im taking the dive and going TT soon. gonna get the APS TT kit from Z1 and having a local shop do the install.

ive heard estimates for this kit and setup (UTEC, 600cc injectors) to be around 400/400 rwhp. what clutch should i get? this is my daily driver so i dont want it to be too stiff but i also want it to be good for the power ill be making. anyone have any good ideas?

If you plan on turning it up in the future make sure you get a clutch now that you won't have to sell later.

Exedy twin carbon would be nice if you have the $, I have the triple carbon and it's very streetable

I have a JDM Nismo super copper mix twin plate its very nice. Also the Exedy twin is nice I have drove a car with it, if money is no object a carbonetics triple plate would be the way to go IMO.

im not really looking to push it past about 450hp in the forseeable future. i want a good quality clutch that isnt hard to drive everyday. i see a lot about the exedy.

wow the exedy twin is over $2k. didnt really want to spend that much lol.

looks like the JWT clutch/flywheel is only $850 from forged. is that a good combo to go with? says 500hp max which should be more than enough. hows the chatter? i dont want a super chattery clutch as this will be on my daily driver

I have a 5AT, but from the cars I have seen with any aftermarket clutch you will get chatter with these cars. Can't do much about it, and the JWT combo should be good for your power level as well.

On a side note, you shouldn't go any higher than 400whp on a DD. If you do you dramatically increase your chances of blowing your motor.

lol, thats what everyone says. Ull get the boost addiction and the next thing you know you will be building a motor

One thing to note is that the exedy twin disk already has a flywheel included

OSGiken twin should be a good compromise. I know of 500+wtq cars running this with no slippage.

but the JWT WITH a lightened flywheel is around $800. is the exedy really worth 3x the price of the JWT?

also, i saw that your car has the APS TT kit as well and your 1/4 times are among the fastest listed on this board. well done . mind telling me your setup? do you have a built motor to go along with those twins? what can i expect from this kit?

meh, chatter sucks. oh well.

and i didnt really plan on going higher than around 420whp on this setup. seems to be a good number to shoot for to still be reliable and fast.

Between 15-1700 for the Twin. Super single OS is like 1-1200 depending on the casing. Steel vs aluminum. http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...ine&prodid=938
