You pay for what you get. I have an Exedy triple carbon and I'm glad I got it when I had the choice as far as holding power. If I were to do it again I'd get an OS Giken or the same Exedy.

the best advice is to over buy your clutch. If you dont have money for a dual disc now, keep saving. That JWT is a glorified stocker. I'd get the competition stage 4 before that.

Also remember that puck type clutches are much harder to drive in traffic.

FWIW, most of the chatter is going to be the result of a lightened and/or single mass flywheel. Not so much the clutch.

Get a dual mass flywheel or keep the flywheel stock and you'll probably be close to stock noise/engagement.

+100000. My only FI regret is not getting a smoother clutch.

IMO, you can keep the stock clutch until it starts sliping while at the same time, be saving up for your clutch upgrade. You won't get a discount doing the clutch right away since they are independent installations.

If you don't boost all the time and run a lot of hwy miles on your daily drive, you should be ok for the time being.

That totally depends on the shop. If they take the motor out to install the turbo kit (I hope they would) then it would be much easier to replace the clutch. However, I think the OP should just keep the boost down and run on the stock clutch until he has enough money to get a high quality clutch.

also, i saw that your car has the APS TT kit as well and your 1/4 times are among the fastest listed on this board. well done . mind telling me your setup? do you have a built motor to go along with those twins? what can i expect from this kit?
Forged Performance S1 Shortblock
Ported heads
GTM Turbo Cams
Ferrea Valvetrain
+1mm Valves
Exedy Triple Carbon Clutch
APS Extreme TT
Haltech Platinum EMS
CJM Stage 1 RFS
HKS 1000CC Injectors

that was last year, the car made 550 @ 15psi

This year I changed the TT kit to a GTM Stage 5 and added twin walbros and E85

hopefully ill be in the 10's

I agree....if you go cheap on the clutch it won't last.... The you will have to pay for someone to replace it.... Which is not cheap.

I was in a very similar situation to yours. I am going to be installing an HKS TT soon with a UTEC and 600cc injectors. I am looking to make about 375-400 whp. I went with an ACT streetlite flywheel and a Clutch Masters FX300. Should be pretty streetable, the FX300 is a segmented kevlar face.
