I've recently installed a procharger on my 5AT. I only have about 3K miles on it so for and am currently looking into a valve body upgrade. As, far as the trans cooler is concerned where have you mounted it? The intercooler and piping make it a very tight space up front. I also came across the Derale trans cooler which looked like it would be great for mounting. Any thoughts on this?

Mine is passenger side beside the intercooler where the fluid reservoir was.

That heat sink trans cooler doesn't look like is has very much surface area - it doesn't look like it was intended for high-performance applications.

hope this help with locating were to put your cooler, but also depends what bumper you have also.

I have a setup like this, oil cooler on one side and tranny cooler on the other. My plumbing and lines are facing down and I also have a karuma z bumper.

Valve body and large cooler (11 x 11 x 1.5 recommended, like Canadian's) and you'll be set for FI. I use the Tru Cool model 4590 (low pressure drop, designed to bypass cold trans fluid).

A boosted 5AT will outrun most 6MTs with significantly more power. You will enjoy it!

Because you maintain boost during shifts and the shifts are quick! A 6MT driver will have to flog the transmission in an attempt to keep up. On the dyno, you will take a 5% additional drivetrain loss - there's no getting around that.

When shifting do you still get some blow off noise or is that completely eliminated since you maintain boost through the shift? Sheeeeeit, I'd almost go turbo for the noise alone! hahah

I don't hear my recirc BOV unless I let up on the throttle. I'm not one for the noise though (hence no BOV). I would have my car running silent if anyone made a quiet performance muffler system for FI (Motordyne will soon!).

Same here no BOV sound when changing through the AT gears unless I intentionally let off just to hear the sound
