Using catch can with ATI

You guys are going to hate me for this one, but here we go!

Over the weekend I installed a NISMO catch can I bought off of Ebay for around $70 (pricey but NISMO and all chrome). I took off the drivers side inner fender well hoping to mount it in there, but there just wasn't room. I was almost out of ideas when my Dad suggested to mount in on top of the intercooler. We removed the grill and it was the perfect location. I mounted the catch can horizontally and tubed it in to make it look stock. On the ATI Procharger, for those who don't know, the crank case vent is left venting to atmosphere, because there is no real intake due to a lack of space. This can lead to fumes and oil dripping out of the tube and collecting in the under body. On a hot summer day it smells like the car is leaking oil really bad, unacceptable for a $38,000 car with 8,000 miles on it. So, I routed the crank case vent through my radiator support and into the catch can. This particuolar can has two nipples on it, an 'in' and an 'out.' For the out, I ran another tube right back through the radiator support and left it sitting right next to the grill (like I said there is no intake or filter) on the supercharger comressor. So now, when the supercharger is sucking air (i.e. when the car is running) the compressor will actually suck in all the fumes that pass through, and all the oil will rest in the catch can.

The only problem is that I don't have a single pic of any of it. I suck, sorry. I'll try and take some pics next week because it looks really cool, and its very functional.

Re: Using catch can with ATI

If only you would have mentioned someting BEFORE I bought mine!!!! There isn't much room for it under the hood, that is why its sitting on top of my intercooler, there is PLENTY of space there. It just makes the tubing a little more intertesting. I guess the Vortech would have the same problem as the ATI due to the A/C lines and radiator support, so I guess my thread title should be a little different, oh well.

Did the same and mounted it to intercooler with industrial grade Velcro.
