Cometic VS. HKS Headgasket

Make sure that they are not just re-branded Cometics. Hopefully they are not.
EXCUSE ME

... Am I missing something here
I beleive that Jtrain had someone else build his motor. He only took it to Japtrix (after Jack had left) to install a fuel return system (the one I sold him) and have it tuned.
Roger would not have installed a Cometic head gasket on a VQ motor. He was bitching about Cometic head gaskets before I started my first buld, which was way before JTrain's latest build was started. Roger told me that he would not use Cometic head gaskets on a VQ motor if he had any say in the matter.

Thanks TTG35forT if I have bent valves I might go with the Cozi one. *edit* I just read the description and it says the cometic gasket uses multiple layers....... So it looks to be rebranded.
XKR don't you read my thread on the other site??
My exhaust cam sprocket either came loose or broke? It was while I was at an idle so i hope the bolt came loose and nothing was damaged but i don't think i could be that lucky
.
Sorry for the Hijack

In summary,
Cosworth head gasket = overpriced Cometic head gasket = junk
Call Sharif at FP or Sam at GTM and see what they use for 100mm bores. Maybe they have a better solution.

The only solution for 100mm bore is the cometic/cosworth. I have used it now for 10,000 miles and all is good per the oil analysis. My motor is a 3.8L GTM and they use cometic on all there 100mm builds. So do all the other big shops if your going with a 4.1L stroker. There is nothing wrong with the gasket if the motor is assembled properly. I believe its the headgasket injected uses on there drag car too.
What turbo set up and what kind of boost do you run? Mine seemed fine at 21psi that dosent mean it didn't cross my mind about the lift. It seems you are correct the only HG for 100mm bore is the cometic.
I am more worried about head lift at the mid 20s for psi with the kind of cfm that the 850bbs would be pushing would be more than the 18Gs. I have run 21psi so far and no issues yet but I am scared to push it much past there.

i wouldnt worry to much..cometic gaskets have been used for along time with the supra and suburu guys with no problems. I also believe that injected uses it on their drag car.

Does anyone else make a 100mm gasket? If I have bent valves it might be a good time to ditch the cometic.
