Is this a once in a lifetime opportunity ( Greddy TT for $3K )?)

I know a person who has a Greddy TT kit for 350Z and is having financial hardship. He's willing to sell the entire kit + intercooler + fueling + e-manage ultimate for $3K.

I'll be honest...I just came back from my honeymoon and spent a isht load of money. I would have to get a 1 year loan for this ( which I could maybe pay it off in 6 months ).

Should I do it?

Go cash or not at all - debt is not the place to be right now.

Don't do it captain!!!!!

Save up and payoff because no point in getting him out of debt only to put yourself in debt

My advice is wait I have seen kits go for 3600 I'm sure it would beworth the wait.

+ install + tune and supporting mods will add up

My motto is don't buy what you can't afford.

What about Install and Tune? This will definitely add up probably another $2-3k easily, even if you do the install yourself.

Also, what if you blow your engine? If you can barely afford a TT kit, then you surely won't be able to afford it when something goes wrong.

Of course, you live only once. Why wait when you can buy now, and pay later! Its the American way!!!!

Also, tell your friend to list the kit here on the market place or on EBAY. He'll get much more money for it!

I guess you guys are right...I was figured why pay $4000+ later if I could pay $3000 now but I have seen a few sub $4K kits.

As for install and tune...I would do both myself so no money involved here.

It's funny how everyone is saying no...yet the poll is saying yes...lol.

I say yes... Buy it for 3000 and sell it for 3500.. That is the easiest $500 you'll ever get.

A lot depends on the condition of the kit, the miles, etc. If it is a very low milage kit in very good condition, then it is probably a good deal. If the turbos have a lot of milage, have them checked out to make sure that they won't need to be re-built any time soon. Re-building them is not cheap. If they do need to be re-built, you want to do so before they are installed. It is a major PIA to get them out again. I'm not sure if you can even get them out without dropping the motor.

Also, to put things into perspective, I had a Greddy TT kit (TD05H-18G turbos) with the Greddy Intercooler/piping for sale. They had only 1,000 miles on them, and the first 500 were easy break in miles. In addition, I had the exhaust manifolds and turbo housings ceramic coated (to keep the engine bay temps down and keep as much of the the exhaust energy as possible/practical going through the turbine instead dissipating into the engine bay). The ceramic coating alone cost $290. These were for sale for months, and I finally got $4,000 for the setup. If you have to have the turbos re-built, I'm guessing you will end up north of that figure.

Also, what do you mean by "fueling." Is it a Walbro fuel pump, or an entire fuel return system. If it is a good fuel return system, like the CJ Motorsports, AAM or GTM fuel return system, that does make the package being offered that much more attractive, and it would probably still be a good deal, even if the turbos do need to be re-built. If it is only a Walbro fuel pump, you can pick those up for about $100 or so.

It's whatever fueling the Greedy Kit brings...he said he put over 400whp with it on his stock block.

As for the turbos...I happen to be very good rebuilding turbos...I would have no issues in that department.

Regardless...I'm not going to go through with it...If something breaks ( which can happen ) I would be even further in debt which would really suck.

I wouldn't do it. If something breaks you're ****ed. I would maybe buy it and then try and resell it.
