2 Stupid Questions
Hey Guys,
Have 2 stupid questions:
1.) Can I wrap my headers with them still installed on the car
2.) With a Supercharged VQ will this help enough to warrant to cost/effort it would take to do it?
Thanks in advance!

2.) No.
Thanks for the responses and help guys!!
So HomieG35 - why would it not help? Just curious as I'm not an expert on this stuff. I would think that keeping the temps within the engine bay down a good bit would benefit anything and everything under the hood (rubber hoses, plastics, belts, air intake etc)? Plus I did try and do some research and it says that wrapping the headers would also increase the exhaust gases temp and help expidite it's flow out through the exhaust, thus creating a higher flow - maybe a micro amount of moer power - probably not noticeable, but I'm thinking the benefits of the health and life of the components under the hood would be worth the effort, Right??
Anymore information from the experts is most welcome, thanks again guys!!
Thanks guys!

Oh, it would help. But you said would it help "enough to warrant to cost/effort" - that's what I was saying no to. It might decrease engine temperatures 50%, but there is some debate on other pros and cons to this (search Google). I've seen people with 1000hp Supras and no heat wrap, I've seen 1000hp Supras with heat wrap... I guess it's really up to you. If you're gonna do it anyway, do it right and have them coated - it'll look better, last longer, and has been proven to create the effect you are looking for to an even greater extent. As far as power, you're right... it's very very very little (its not the intended purpose either, so that's ok).
Where do you live? I have a supercharged G in Texas and haven't worried about heat wrapping in 110*F days for the last 4 years. Do you have a vented hood? They help also.
So, will it hurt? No. Does it help, to a degree (no pun, lol). Will it ever really make a difference one way or another, probably not. If you do go ahead with it, be sure to take before and after temps and let us know! I like my pretty headers though... they don't need panty-hose
