Add a couple really heavy subs and you're ready to go Terry! Oh and a full tank of gas. Oh, yes, and slide your seat way back and on full recline, caddy style!!! LOL.

still interested, what would the 0-60 times be after putting in a greddy TT kit or an APS TT kit in?

Too many variables are still unknown. Are you going to get a built short block or run the stock short block? What tires are you going to be running? Are you automatic or 6 speed?

This topic has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over analyzed.
Never thought about running drag slicks around a road course. It certainly is a novel idea, though.

Well i'm still deciding if the TT kit is the option for me or whether i should buy a new car (Preferably i want to keep it).. I have roughly 17k (AUD$) to spend on it all. So if at the end theres leftover for more mods then ill do the ones which bring the biggest gains obviously.

The main thing im interested in is acceleration off the line, not so much the 1/4 mile times.

I'm a 6 speed guy

The general concensous is to not exceed 400 whp on a stock block. Even then, it is somewhat luck of the draw on how well it holds up. Of course, if you push it hard, it won't last as long as if you don't. I know a couple of guys who have been running stock blocks with a twin turbo setup for quite some time, but then there are others that blow them up relatively quickly. If you have not done so already, please read through the following thread:

https://g35driver.com/forums/forced-...-you-push.html

Since you need to either drop the motor out or take apart your entire front end to get the TT kit on, I would recommend spending the extra money to get a built short block. Good short-blocks start around $2,600 USD, plus shipping, and go up from there. That is assuming you return your old block in lieu of a core charge. Core charges generally range from $750 - $1,000 depending on the vendor.

From my experience, modding and boost both become addicting and you always want more. I started trying to keep my build under $20k USD, and blew that figure clean out of the water very quickly. Also, things can and do go wrong, even with a built short-block, when you start pushing very hard. You need to make sure you have a good fuel return system and a fuel pump adequate to meet your hp goal, have a clutch strong enough for the hp, and get a good tune.

At 400 whp, with the right tires and clutch, I would think you could get 0-60 in the low-mid 4-second range. Before I over-reved my first motor (it's a long story, but I pegged the tachometer doing a WOT shift when the rev limiter did not kick in, and as a result destroyed two rod bearings), I was up around the 600 whp mark. I had difficulty getting traction in first and second gears, even with Toyo R888 305/30/19s on the rear. Nonethless, my car stock was spec'ed at doing 0-60 in 5.8 sec. I was significantly quicker than that. I'm speculating that I was in the high 3 - low 4 second range, but I never measured it so I don't know for sure. One person I took for a ride said that the acceleration was enough to make him queezy.

If you like the idea of modding your car and will find it to be a hobby that brings you pleasure, and you understand that things can and do go wrong, then great. Proceed.

If, however, you just want a car that does 0-60 fast with relatively no headaches or problems, it is probably worth considering buying a car that meets your acceleration goals stock from factory. If something does go wrong, you likely will be able to get it fixed under warranty. I think the new Lotus Evora would be a fun car to have (Appx. 75k USD base price, 0-60 in 4.9 sec.). Another one I like is the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe (Appx. 62k USD base price, 0-60 in 3.9 sec.). The Nissan GTR also is a great car (Appx. 82k USD base price, 0-60 in 3.5 sec. - AWD drive and launch control helps a bunch on 0-60 times). Other options you may consider are the BMW M3, the Porsche Boxter Spyder, and the Porsche Caymen. Still, there are a number of other cars that are very fast 0-60 straight from the factory. For what I already have into my G35, I could have any of these cars sitting in my garage right now. But, I like modding my car and get great enjoyment out of the process (well, most of it).

The only 0-60 time you should care about in a the 0-60 Ft mark.

Like someone else said, 0-60's have way too many variables to take into account in a supercharged/tt VQ35. Those times are no where near as conclusive as other statistical figures.

The only thing that ever comes out of 0-60 mph is bench racing.

chances are that you behind the wheel will be slower than stock...... So save yourself some money and don't think about the APS kit and stop arguing with your friends with stupid hypothetical ideas.

Have a nice day.
