Change of pace from the sad events of last week (gurgen), I am now running the 11psi pulley on the Vortech. This is not your normal setup. I have installed a wastegate in the intake charge to bleed off unwanted boost. The upside is that I'm making nearly 1.5lbs of boost more at the same rpm in the midrange. There were only a few modifications needed to pull this off. I just got home from a dark road tuning session and boy the car's demeanor has changed significantly and I'm only boosting to 8psi. Only problem I'm having is that boost will build and bleed then drop about a psi then hold steady. I'm going to talk to some people about this tomorrow. Maybe you guys have an idea. Here are some pics I took today while having the pieces fabricated.

I'm hitting 7psi at 5200 rpm which is really cool, vs 5.5psi with the 9lb pulley. At 4500 RPM's boost is at 5.5. The wastgate or boost controller keeps dropping boost...I'm not sure what's causing this.

you still using the stock BOV??
i believe the spring is ratedd to 8psi max......
i wouldnt doubt if it is seeping........
man, i wish you could check out this 5 way adjustable worx tuning bov i am running.... it is awesome!!
i think there might even be an adapter to fit mine to a greddy type S... (that might work!)

Es,
I double checked that BOV you mentioned and the rep said it was rated for some where like 25psi. Nothing to worry about. We need to get together sometime to compare rides.

Gspot,
Great going on the pully and regulator idea to boost the lower end RPM.
It is interesting to see the sawtooth pressure profile. I have seen this many many times on industrial and aerospace regulators. In fact it is a normal thing to see some degree of hysterisis with pressure regulators but in your case it is too much and should be electronicaly regulated much more flat by the electronic controller....
Is your boost regulator connected to an electronic pressure sensor? Where the electronic boost regulator then controls the waste gate via some kind of solenoid?
It is possible the waste gate is reacting properly to the input but the electronic pressure sensor controlling it is obstructed or malfunctioning.

Problem appears to be solved. The boost is controlled via valve aka manual boost controller. I only turned the boost controller 1 turn and it appears it wasn't enough. I then turned it another turn based on a suggestion from Dynamic Speed Labs saying it wasn't allowing the boost controller to get a chance to control boost, and it was relying too much on the spring in the wastegate. I made two hard pulls coming back from lunch after adjusting and it appears the car is riding steady 8psi from 5700-7000. I will have to datalog to be more conclusive, possible tonight. Thank you for the suggestion.
BTW, the last picture is the boost controller, TurboXS model, blue in color.

Daniel,
Stay tuned, some friends and I are going to rent Bradenton Motorsports park out one night. Should be a 12 sec Prelude, 10 sec Porsche, 11 sec Miata, and hopefully a 12 sec G35 sedan heading out there.
It will be like a group buy. I'll keep you posted in the SE forum.
