Re: which motor oil to use for FI?

I have used Mobil Delvac 1 synthetic oil in my turbo diesel van for 150K miles without any issues. Change intervals have been as much as 15K miles.

Previously, I used this oil exclusively in a 3.0L Maxima for just under 300K miles without any issues and the car never burned ANY oil.

I have never seen this oil mentioned in these forums, but it is very well know among truckers with turbo diesels because it has a high detergent additive package.

Mobil has very knowledgeable people available on their tech support line at 800-MOBIL-25, option 3.

I would use Redline or Royal Purple or Amsoil .Do a search on My350Z.com ....alot of guys using Moble 1 have oil consumtion... using it with FI and NA . I personally wouldnt use anything but the best synthetic you can get .And I dont believe Moble 1 is close to the top of the line . Oil is cheap...spend a couple bucks more per quart more and get the best . You put alot of money in your car and the mods you added on.....My 02.cents

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

IMO ,I would put Royal purple and Redline at a tie and very slightly better than Amsoil. I use RP for engine, 6MT and diff. All three brands are notably better than Mobil1 and none will let you down with FI as long as you change your oil and filter at reasonable intervals.
