Reflash over Uprev Osiris?
Reflash over Uprev Osiris?
So, I've got my car for sale in the classifieds and I have someone who is interested in the turbo kit off of it. I'm considering parting the aftermarket stuff off because it will make selling the car easier. The guy purchasing it has an almost identical setup to mine so I mentioned swapping ECU's so he could basically bolt on the entire kit and run it out of the box. However, I think he may be going for bigger power down the line and so I told him $250 more than just the turbo kit for an ECU swap with the tune. My questions are, does it seem like it would be worth it for him to swap me ECU's (for him and for only $250 for the ECU with tune already installed)? Also, and most importantly, how would I get my ECU back to stock if I sold him the kit without swapping ECU's? Thanks for any ideas guys,

I know Osiris is a reflash, that's why I said "reflash over Osiris". My stock ECU was flashed with Osiris and tuned for the STS turbo kit and other mods at a tuner shop in IL. What I'm saying is if I unbolt the turbo kit and sell it what would be the best way to get the ECU back to stock so I could run the car normally without the turbo?
That's easy to do with the Osiris... they should be able to set it back to factory settings unless it's saved as an extra map already. Either or you can just get it retuned.
1. 93 octane
2. 91 octane
3. 89 octane
4. Valet
5. Security mode
If you want your ECU back to stock just go to the tuner that did the tune, they can reflash it to stock in about 30 seconds. Even if they don't have your specific stock map saved, they're all the same and I guarantee that they will have one saved to reflash cars with.
If you are going to trade ECU's with him I'd ask for a LOT more than $250, considering the Osiris license is saved in your ECU and will be valid forever, and he's basically getting a fully tuned EMS with the kit. He'd pay $1000+ for a decent FI tune and Osiris license new. Last time I checked bare bones price on an Osiris license was around $600

Cool, thanks for the advice. I guess the problem will be that the tuner shop that originally did it is in IL and once I remove the turbo I obviously wouldn't want to drive it on the boosted tune to IL.
The person buying it has an 05 and I have an 04 and I guess there were significant differences between the ECU's for those years. Anyone with an AWD 04 G35x that has a rear mount STS turbo kit, plenum spacer, exhaust want to trade ECU's
? I feel bad wiping it.

I wonder if they'll charge me to flash it back to stock tune... I e-mailed uprev this morning. I may look for a local shop in Indy that is an Uprev licensed shop and give them a call.
Osiris licenses never "go away", so if they flash your ECU to stock the shop will get your Osiris licence back on their cable, and then they can sell it to someone else. (I might get in trouble for telling you this..)
If they try and charge you I'd tell them to take a hike

Buyer still needs to get retuned. No two motors are alike, and the fine tune on the ECU is for OP's motor, not the buyers. But the Tune on there takes a lot of the work out of the way.
