Got a Compression Test Did
About 14,000 boosted miles now and nothing major except for the occasional gremlin. I figured it was time to see if I'd bent, blown, or busted a ring, rod, valve, etc., etc. We only did the compression test today because the place I was borrowing tools from said their air wasn't working right and would shoot condensation out - something I didn't care to have in my engine, so I opted out of the leak down test.
Background:
2004.5 G35 Coupe
14,000 Procharged miles / 32,000 total miles
6psi
Very conservative tune @ 350whp and 320wtq (hits 10.0 at past 6000rpm)
UTEC
Return fuel system with Walbro 255 and 720cc injectors
Results:
Top view (not sure how they are numbered)
|Front of car|
180*.......182
175.........180
172**.....178
|Rear of car|
*A small amount of oil was found on the spark plug.
**Tested twice, same results.
Plugs are one step colder NGK Iridiums.
They have been in the car for 2 years, about 10,000 miles.
I can post pictures up later, but honestly the plugs look fine. Even the one with oil on it doesn't look much different than the others- again, a very small amount of oil, but still there.
I really don't see the need to do a leak down right now. But, I'm just posting this as an FYI and to get other's feed back.
Thanks!

If their is oil on the tip that goes in the combustion chamber I wouldn't be suggesting Valve Covers but if you also have it on the body of the spark and the coil pack then I would change the VC and see where it goes from there.
