Going Vortech....but

Re: Going Vortech....but
Wrah,
Best info seems to be on my350z.com. The #1 thing on Vortech (or any S/C) is tuning. I found the SS box program from Vortech is conservative and very safe (almost too conservative as it robs some usable HP). But it is based on (I believe) a stock G35. If you have other mods (plenum, headers, exhaust, etc.) that effect air & fuel, you will want to have the program tweaked using a dyno. I just added headers & plenum to my set-up and it REALLY leaned out and required re-tune to add more fuel to the mix.
Other common things I experienced were:
- loud BOV (blow off valve) - can be quieted with addition of a filter, etc.
- loud belts - you will have to tighted the belts a few times after initial installation. I think you can also find aftermarket belts that resist stretching better.
There really is a ton of info on the forums discusing these and other pointers. The Vortech is a great system for good, reliable HP. Most important: find a good installer/tuner, DYNO TUNE.
Good Luck!

Re: Going Vortech....but
That's my next problem..... Tuning! I feel more than confident that I can have a perfect install. I have everything I need, even a heated garage, but tunning is another story!
No I don't know of any good garages for any street setup in Columbus! That is major work for our cars!
