I'm planning on turboing my Altima with the VQ, and later will be turboing my G35 as well. But here is the problem I'm having. Since the VQ has such a high compression ratio, isn't boosting it going to cause it to die quickly without a motor build? those of you with stock VQs on boost, what steps did you take to make sure your motor lasts?

your suspicions are correct. boosting a high compression ratio VQ will cause it to die quickly.

How much boost and how heavy is your foot?

 

I'm aiming for 350-375 whp on both cars. I have no need or use for 400+ on either cars.
