My greddy TT install on jack stands.
Yes it's possible and I did it alone. lol 2 weeks time about 3 hours per day or so. It would've been faster if i didn't have to fabricate the dump tubes and the hr coolant setup. (caution: welds may look hideous but they hold up very well lol)
for the install only, you just need regular tools and a couple odd tools here and there like:
3/8" extension wobble set from harbor freight
stubby wrenches (2-3 inches in length)
torque wrench
breaker bar
and liquid wrench
some random pics below:
took off the basics I/H/E and drained all the oil and coolant
put together my oil feed setup. braided line from the block to 2 crosses. good to prevent cracks at the oil pan by not having any weight hanging off.
cut and shortened, welded the HR coolant pipe to fit the DE. The pipe down the middle had to also be cut. If i ever need to take apart my passenger side turbo, i don't need to drain the coolant again. total spent: less than $100 on used parts and my own labor. GTM charges what. $600 bucks? lol
Found a random radiator hose from the auto parts store to fit. fits like a glove.
making my own dump tube. (turned the wastegates upside down on the driver's side and about 80 degrees for the passenger side then spaced it out with an extra wastegate flange)
and here's where it goes back into the exhaust. over 18" down from the turbo for minimal/no turbulance and no annoying loud open dumps. (clamped down afterwards)
fitting an aftermarket intercooler because I wanted to keep the crash bar
I cut up the extra intercooler Y pipe that came with the kit and made it to fit.. I'm test fitting here
Install all the oil cooler, oil spacer, oil return and oil feed
install DIY RFS setup- inline pump, inline filter, aftermarket fuel rails w/ a paxton FPR/ 800cc injectors
wire in all the haltech stuff/ gauges:
Heat wrapped everything
The final product:
Stock looking hahah (i live in cali)
The bad: started up the car, found a ton of leaks everywhere, from the oil cooler to the downpipe, and wastegate. took everything apart that was leaking and added new gaskets, tightened fittings, and welded up some pin holes. fixed
except for the oil cooler. The my350z member who sold me the oil cooler leaks everywhere.. shady guy. i ripped it out and now i have to piece together my own.
